They will stick to the carpet, etc. and you thread the cords through them. Technically they are to keep you from tripping over a cord, but they also work for hiding them from kids. :-) There are also the ones that stick to walls for lamp cords, etc. Just be careful because the adhesive is REALLY sticky.
